Public Sector Data as a Service

Public Sector Data as a Service (PSDaaS) is a unique solution.

It brings all the relevant options for the public sector in one place.

Public Sector Data as a Service (PSDaaS) aims to bring a one-stop solution for the organisation’s internal and external data and dashboards needs, thus supporting in making evidence base, informed decisions and reporting on the progress. Given the scarce amount of time and resources, PSDaaS is here to support your staff members in focusing more on what is required in the community and delivering more on it, therefore increasing the overall productivity of your organisation.

There is a lot to offer, so please feel free to see what suits you best and suggest further.

We would love to be a part of your projects and work with you in this transformational journey.

Frequently Asked Questions

For Level 3 Data Led subscription we can develop the KPI reporting dashboards, it will be charged separately and depends on the scope of the project. Under Level 2 Data Driven we can install Tableau and give licenses so that you or your team could develop the things. Happy to support (as per the support hours) and develop it with you. Apart from that I am in the process of getting some POC funding from AWS and Salesforce which can be utilised for this purpose, it can cover upto 5 dashboards development work (fewer if more work is needed on data collation and data cleaning). Happy to discuss this further.

No, under the L2 or L3 the Council will get access to more dashboards, themes, data lake and other features. Our arrangement with Taituara will remain in place for the Councils. The current arrangement with Taituara is that the Councils will get access to around 100 dashboards (selected by Taituara), and if any the Councils want more or more flexibility, then they will contact DnD directly. Any dashboards which are in Taituara Sector Good Toolkit will not be available to the Councils outside, apart from if they are part of any Themed dashboard. Themed dashboards are part of L2 and L3.

Yes any time. L3 is more of a custom work or outsourcing projects/dashboards development or data pipelines or training. We will work very closely with you in L3, which will be more or less ‘done with you’ kind of project. Thus developing the solution exactly you require (acknowledging that there can be some constraints in the wishes). As for the custom dashboards development, the pricing is roughly around $1000 per dashboard if the data is a totally new and there is no existing dashboard in our library/services. If the dashboard is already available in our library/services then the development cost will be $500 per dashboard. The other cost to consider is the number of licenses required to view the dashboards (viewer license is USD$15 per user per month). This pricing is for the development only. If you want to retain the same dashboards and services in the next year then the maintaining cost will be 50% of the total project cost or negotiable.

Yes, it is covered under L2, under the ‘organisation internal solution’. Once the Tableau is installed within the Council then your team can develop any kind of dashboards by connecting to data lake or any of your internal datasets. Once the dashboards are development then it can be saved/published in HCC Tableau Cloud site. Once the dashboards are in the Tableau Cloud then it can be embedded in any place. The only thing is the users will have to login to view the dashboards, so it will come to the question that how many users are there; usually an organisation only need viewer licenses (USD$15 per use per month) and we can negotiate the pricing with Tableau. The other way to overcome it is that if the data is non-sensitive then the dashboard can be published in Tableau Public and from there connect it back to wherever needed, in this approach there is no need of licenses. If there is extra support or development work needed then you can switch to our L3 subscription and we can work with you for rolling out the whole solution.

For now the discounted rate is for the first year only. For the second year I will see how the things go and update on the prices, but the standard fee will remain the same as a max cap. Given the features, the standard fee is also pretty good.

We strongly believe in instilling the data capability within the organisation.
